Last week, the Fraser Coast Local Medical Association (FCLMA) had the privilege of hosting a Sunset Celebration Dinner in honour of two extraordinary clinicians — Dr. Paul Neeskens and Dr. Ian Truscott — as they bid farewell to clinical practice and stepped into a well-earned retirement.

The evening brought together colleagues, friends, and family for a moving night of storytelling, shared memories, and heartfelt appreciation. The atmosphere was warm and celebratory, as we reflected on decades of compassionate care, leadership, and dedication to the Fraser Coast medical community.

“Their service has left an indelible mark — not just on the patients they’ve helped, but on the peers they’ve mentored and the system they’ve strengthened.”

📸 Guests enjoyed a photo retrospective, including newspaper clippings and memorable milestones from both doctors’ distinguished careers.

We also wish to acknowledge that there are other valued clinicians in our region who have recently retired or are preparing to retire soon. If you know of someone who deserves similar recognition, please let us know — we would be honoured to celebrate them at a future event.
